SFAUSI: Suicide First Aid through Understanding Suicide Intervention has been independently evaluated during 2015 through 2017 involving the assessment of cohorts of learners across England, Wales and Trinidad, totalling 315 individual participants.

The 2 evaluations are particularly robust because of:

• the wide range of occupational groups, including police, prisons officers, primary care including GP’s and Nurses, Support Staff and Advocates for Domestic Abuse, Mental Health and Young People, Teachers, Defence Force Personnel and other professional and community groups
• the very large cohort of participants
• multiple ethnicity and cultural backgrounds
• large number of course delivery events (over 30)
• multiple tutors delivering the learning

The conclusive mantra from the evaluations describes SFAUSI as matching previous outcomes set by Gold Standard evaluated training, but states SFAUSI is arguably of higher credibility due to the very high cohort sampled and variety in educational standards of learners.
